Application Generator
MANASYS is a 4GL translator and programming system designed to generate applications for Fujitsu mainframe systems. It runs on the mainframe or an OS/2 system.
MANASYS is the key to high productivity in application development. Combining the productiveness of a 4GL system with the performance benefits of a COBOL production environment, MANASYS provides solutions that are comprehensive, adaptable, and maintainable, but which take a fraction of the time and effort required by traditional development methods. With close links to the relational database manager RDB II, MANASYS is a fundamental component of Fujitsu's Total Relational Solution.
Central to the productivity boost is the powerful data definition facility which is semantically very rich. MANASYS requires data to be defined only once, and then coordinates every occurence of data items thereafter. Because all data attributes are specified in advance and in one place, MANASYS eliminates a major source of potential program errors and maintenance problems.
MANASYS can also capture existing data definitions from a variety of sources, allowing easy integration of MANASYS programs with existing systems.
Translator
The translator is the engine that turns the concise MANASYS language scripts in correct COBOL source programs that are ready for compilation and testing.
ManaTalk
ManaTalk is an intelligent full screen editor that combines traditional mainframe editor facilities with interactive language validation and error correction.
ManaBatch
This facility allows the translation of MANASYS programs in batched mode.
ManaGen
ManaGen is an application generator which is especially suited to rapid application prototyping.
ManaRef
ManaRef provides full function cross-reference and change impact analysis for ease of application maintenance through the full program life cycle.
ManaReport
ManaReport is a full function report writer.
OS/2 Translator
This facility allows users to realise the full power of MANASYS in a PC environment, freeing the mainframe resources from development tasks to production.
