A business appraisal was made of this firm which was a third placed competitor in a closing software market. Alternative strategies were proposed to radically address market opportunities, including the merger of the business with another to gain scale and diversify sales activities. This strategy was chosen and implemented to conclusion, resulting in a very staisfactory long term outcome for both parties.

Systemic service failures associated with deliveries to international travellers prompted an intensive service process analysis, assessment of costs of failure, identification of gaps, and redesign of the process to eliminate these for best economic rent.
This was followed by a company-wide analysis of distribution logistics leading to process re-design recommendations. Pablo was then engaged to implement the process re-design project through to completion and delivery of benefits. This project resulted in 70% increase in storage capacity and doubled flow capacity through the logistics center, and estimated cost savings with NPV over a half million dollars. Further proposed initiatives offered combined benefits of over $1.6 million pa for a investment of $400,000.
South Waikato District Council

Council comissioned a District Economic Development study including extensive consultation throughout the business community, a competitive situation analysis, and assessment of Council's role.
The project identified the District's "Unique Points of Difference" leading to themes around which ED should be managed. Boundaries were proposed defining Council's role in ED. The project recommended establishment of a small ED team to enhance private sector cooperation in ED along selected themes.
Pablo was engaged by Dargaville High School and two other regional high schools to develop a framework for regional technology initiatives which were the subject of a Technology Grant submission to the Ministry of Education. This involved exploration of the commercial environment, identifying opportunities for closer associations between the schools and enterprise in the region, determining Critical Success Factors and resources, and preparing a multi-media submission to the Ministry.
Lecturing to adult business students in the Bachelor of Business Studies course; selected lectures to Graduate Diploma courses.
Also lectured through Auckland New Venture Trust to adults seeking to acquire skills in starting up new ventures.
